Meet Marissa LeJune

Our Founder & Owner

Hey there! My name is Marissa and I am the owner of Tail Swaggers!

I created Tail Swaggers with two principles in mind:

  1. Provide the HIGHEST quality care for dogs to make work days and traveling easy on owners.

  2. Help provide a healthy environment that help dogs learn and grow into the best version of themselves.

I believe every person and dog deserves to grow into the best version of themselves and community is a huge part of that. That’s why I create my Tail Swaggers community. The structure of my daycare allows your dog the freedom to have fun but also learn key commands and mindset skills that help them succeed in every day life. I will also help YOU, the owner learn how to become the leader your dog needs you to be to improve communication and y’alls relationship. I also am committed to providing you the knowledge of what I’m teaching your dogs at daycare so you can continue their training at home. Having knowledge is one thing, knowing how and being committed/consistent with applying that knowledge at home is where true growth happens.

How did I get started in the pet care industry?

I had the greatest privilege of achieving my childhood dream of being a collegiate athlete. I attended Lamar University where I played softball and threw the javelin for my track team. If there’s one thing all college athletes know it’s that you don’t have time outside of school and your sport. So, I quickly realized a typical 9-5 job wasn’t going to work. Enter, dogs! I have always had a love for dogs. I naturally navigated to them and was obsessed about them growing up. So, my entrepreneurship (or pet-prenuership) started in college. In-between classes and practice i’d board, walk and care for dogs in the city. After graduating with my both my bachelors and masters degree, making the move to Fort Worth, the father of my daughter saw my passion I had in the pet care industry, how each of my clients raved about me and encouraged me to take my business full time. By the grace of God, I worked hard, learned, served and in 2018 I went full time in my business!

Present day, what does Tail Swaggers focus on?

I am looking to lead the pet care industry into a new area with my innovative outlook on serving your dogs luxuriously, with education and the important of giving back to help dog’s in need.

My new all-in-one doggie daycare membership covers every area of your dog’s health: Physical, mental, & emotional. I believes there is depth and detail that goes into caring and building trust with you and your dogs. I also believes dog’s are similar to humans in that they are a product of their daily habits. With this knowledge I makes sure that each dog is being properly educated & empowered to become the best version of themselves!

If you want your dog to have tail wagging happiness in a safe environment then you’re in the right place!

I’m so glad you’ve landed on my page & I hope to earn your trust, business and welcome you & your dog into our Swaggers community!

How did I get into training?

Enter, Bell. My fearful, skittish golden retriever. I adopted her from the Fort Worth humane society in 2019 and she is the pup that helped me dive into the training world. I started educating my self on how to help her and quickly saw how many other owners struggled with the same things I did! I dove into learning, asking mentors, and getting hands on experience.

I also wished I could of put her in a daycare too but saw how unstructured and choatic most daycares are. I couldn’t find a single daycare that offered both a balance of fun, training, structure and understood the importance of advocating for her space. Out of frustration and (the pandemic), I pivoted my business to offer what is now our Structured doggie daycare! I wanted to provided the care I knew my dog deserved and bridge that gap in the pet care industry of fun and training!
